RigFish

Rigfish is an online platform for musicians to manage their existing gear and how they use it, make smarter decisions about what to use, purchase, and sell, and a social network to align users with the same gear to discover how they use it, and get gear and rig ideas.

User Experience

As lead UX/UI designer, I spearheaded the platform mechanics and logic based on the client vision, leveraging my user-centered design expertise. I crafted workflows bringing the marketing site, social features, pedalboard and signal chain builder to life. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, I focused on optimizing usability and user experience to create an engaging, social platform enabling guitarists to easily experiment with equipment setups.

Branding & Aesthetic

I developed a vibrant, playful aesthetic for this energetic brand. Using a dark background contrasted with lively pops of yellow, teal and violet, I created a bold, youthful look. Rounded, friendly shapes and a mix of flowing and chunky fonts complement the color palette. The result is an aesthetic that intrigues and delights - dark and bold, yet playful. Saturated colors, bubbly shapes and expressive typography reflect the brand's vision of sparking self-discovery and positivity through creative play.

The Signal Chain

A signal chain refers to the order and flow of audio signals from an electric guitar or bass, through various effects units and processors, and ending at the amplifier. Guitarists and bassists create signal chains by connecting effects pedals and devices in a desired sequence to shape their instrument's tone and sound. Configuring the optimal signal chain allows musicians to achieve their ideal mix of effects like distortion, modulation, delay, and more to craft unique and expressive sounds.

The Pedal Board

A pedal board is used by guitarists and bassists to house and organize effects pedals. The pedals on the board are connected together to create a signal chain that shapes and alters the sound from the instrument before it reaches the amplifier. Pedal boards allow musicians to easily manage multiple pedals and preset effect combinations during live performances.

The Social Platform

The social platform enables guitarists to connect with each other to exchange ideas, share instrument rigs, discuss effects pedals and signal chains, and collaborate on musical topics. By joining the platform, guitarists can access a community of peers to learn, get feedback, and bond over their shared passion for guitar music and gear.
